Predictable, recurring, semi-passive revenue – the holy grail for your business?
Well it definitely changed my life forever. Despite the various pressures and challenges of running 2 businesses, I haven’t worked full time since 2005.
When I was in my early 30s I only ever believed that I could sell my “time” and my “knowledge”. I then inadvertently created and curated a huge community of close “fans” simply by focusing on building my audience (in person as well as online) above everything else.
I was a single mum with 2 small toddlers, seeing 1:1 clients and teaching fitness classes in the evening. But the one thing I made sure I did every single day non stop for 12 months was take action to build a strong, engaged community.
It changed my life. So I built another community too. And that changed my life again. And then I built communities within the communities and continued to experiment with new services and digital courses and they came on the journey with me.
And then I bought property with the savings I had made from my “passive income”…. but that’s another passive income story.
The work is upfront. It’s tough, unforgiving, and often has you questioning if you’re doing the right thing. And sometimes you’ll start looking for a “proper job” because it’s easier.
But if you relentlessly build your audience and email list when you start out instead of constantly chasing immediate income, even if it takes you 2,3,4 years, your business will flourish in the future and you’ll reap the rewards.
